As the professional cyclists enjoy riding the Tour of Oman cycling race each year it shows that Oman has some great roads which are fun and challenging for all road cyclists.
Oman boasts many kilometers of roads with little traffic along the coast under palm trees or through fascinating mountain scenery in the country which are good for road biking.
Like this we can offer a guided Road Cycling Week Oman North with 6 or 7 consecutive days on the bike from / to Muscat which can be organized for all interested cycling groups.
Immediately around Al Hamra about 100 km of small paved roads exist and also two veritable mountain roads with more than 1000 meters in altitude each are waiting to be discovered by you. For comparison: the famous Tour de France ascent up to Mont Ventoux overcomes on 22 km 1634 meters in altitude and ends 1909 m above sea level.
Our longest climb leads you on 22.5 km over 1430 meters in altitude up to the Birkat Sharaf pass at 2010 m above sea level. Another highlight is lighted paved road from Al Hamra to the mountain village Misfat Al Abriyeen with 4 km and 300 meters in altitude.
Like this one can also train at night and enjoy the view over the lights of Al Hamra during the short downhill ride.
With a car transfer even more great routes in the wider region can be reached and exciting day trips on a road bike organized:
